Struck by cosmic rays.
You looked into the moon,
and spun your head inside these tiny grooves,
you ran through the green fields of space,
it's always you and me and our own race.
You were entertained,
you floated through your infinite ways,
the night was your best friend,
for you had no birth
and had no end.
It's where you belong,
your thoughts,
your fears,
your prayers,
in the cosmos,
with your heart.
When the whole world closed their eyes,
that was the queue for you,
to start.
To write,
to feel,
to dream,
of tomorrow,
and who we are,
you and me,
where we came from,
and where in a thousand years
we'll be.
For as heavenly as it would seem,
for as infinite as it might feel,
the nights,
were always stung by fear.
...
I told you to run,
but don't you close your eyes.
Stare at the stars
but do not get lost.
If you want to shine,
like these stars of your sky,
something of you,
will have to die.
Little soul,
don't disappear in time,
chasing shooting stars.
Don't stay up all night,
gazing at these shining greys,
or else,
one day,
when you're lost in time and space,
you'll be struck by cosmic rays.
